“The famous naturalist John Gould (1804-1881) named the bird in honor of his wife Elizabeth,
a fitting memorial to one whose exquisite paintings of Australian birds helped bring them to the world "

To make the long story short read below a sample or everyones history with gouldians:

Lady Gouldian Finch History

It usually starts like this.....

Australian finches! So beautiful, exotic, wonderful, playful! Once you see then you want to have them all! All of them!

White breasted, yellow, orange headed, blues, split to blues to make blues and silvers! After some time you will want to have all the possible colors, mutations and this will keep growing!

You will have one cage, 2 cages, you might loose a female from egg binding but you will go buy another one at the next bird fair and so on!

Once you realize how they breed then that's about it! Your home will be full of those beautiful finches, singing around, flying around!

Your friends homes will often have one or more of your extra birds as presents, you will start trading birds online, going more often to bird fairs and bird shows and so on.. you will go as an exhibitor!

Your whole life is going to be centralized around a bunch of feathers LOL! It’s so nice, isn't it?
